(This is part one of my music series in which I will cover Rockabilly, Psychobilly, and Gothabilly music so stayed tuned!)
I am someone who has always enjoyed rock n roll specifically classic rock. If you are someone who enjoys rock music as well, likes a little bit of history, and/or have been curious about what exactly Rockabilly music is then this is a post for you! Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock music dating back to as early as the 1950s. This style of music started in the United States mainly in the South. What makes this genre of music so unique is that it blends western country music with rhythm and blues. Some other influences on the Rockabilly sound include western swing, boogie-woogie, jump blues, and electric blues. Some of the key people for this music are but definitely not limited to: Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson and Carl Perkins. This style of music created the commercial and cultural entity of the teenager because of its exclusive appeal to the young people at the time. This music was also one of the firsts to be a unifier between race and class because no matter where you come from or what your background is this was your music.
